A Spellplagued Land
The small town of Daggerford is approximately 60 miles southeast of Waterdeep. Daggerford has a population of about 2000, but that can range up almost double that during busy trading seasons when several caravans are stopped there. The town is mostly a farming community, as well as a stopping point for caravans going to and from Waterdeep. The city is surrounded by a wooden wall about ten feet in height for some form of protection, although it is rarely needed. Several homes are located outside the wall, and all of the towns farmland is outside of the walls boundaries.
The town is relatively unguarded, having only a small city guard used for internal security. Most of the town’s able bodied inhabitants are members of the militia which can be called upon if needed to fend off any sort of attack.
Daggerford is ruled by a town council of 5 members that are elected every 4 years by the town. The council meets once a tenday to make decisions for the town. There are several merchants in Daggerford that trade with caravans and their members as they pass through town. Most of these are small extensions of merchants in Waterdeep.
